Extra hosts are blocked. School or work Google cannot use a random upload site. IT will not allow “put this screenshot on someone else’s server.” A shareable link is still required after every capture.

The hosting problem we solve
Many people and companies already live in Google — including school and organisation accounts. They need the file to stay in that account and still get a link they can send.
What ss-capture does
After Save, the image or video is stored locally, then — if you connected Drive — uploaded to your Google account (personal, school, or org). The generated link belongs to that account. We are not the host.
Cutcompress storage is coming soon, not now. When it ships you will download a new build, reinstall, and see the updated policy in the app before you can connect. Until then we never receive your media. Details: Trust & the law.
Offline first
The whole product works with no internet. The network is only used if you turn on a storage destination.
Local by default
Screenshots go to Pictures/ss-capture. Recordings stay in your app data folder. History, search, copy, and reveal work without a server.
Google is yours
Continue with Google opens your Google account. Files land in your Drive. We do not keep your Drive files or your password.
Cutcompress Coming soon
Optional hosted storage will arrive later. Until then, connect is disabled in Settings. No subscription is sold today.
Built for speed on the desktop
Capture
Ctrl+Shift+S for a region shot. Drag, annotate, Enter to save. Skip-edit if you just want the file. Ctrl+Shift+R starts a recording: drag the region, draw while it records, Stop opens the editor.
Edit recordings
Preview, layers (eye / lock / folders), NLE timeline, split and trim with a mark window, crop that fills the frame, add image or video clips, text with bold, italic, align, and custom colors.
